Solomon Global has been featured in a CNBC analysis examining gold’s outlook following renewed strength across precious-metals markets.

After retreating sharply from its early-2026 record above $5,300 an ounce, gold recorded its strongest week since January. The recovery was supported by softer US employment and inflation data, a weaker dollar and a significant reduction in expectations that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates.

Nick Cawley, contributing analyst at Solomon Global, noted that the probability of a Fed rate rise had fallen by more than 20 percentage points in one week. He said this reflected growing market caution over further monetary tightening following benign inflation figures and a weaker-than-expected non-farm payrolls report.

From a technical perspective, Cawley highlighted gold’s move above its 50-day moving average and its break from the year’s pattern of lower highs. These developments could support further gains, with short-term pullbacks potentially providing opportunities to participate in the next stage of the market’s recovery.

The wider outlook remains volatile, with Federal Reserve policy, inflation, geopolitical uncertainty and continued central-bank demand likely to influence prices. Nevertheless, improving technical conditions and reduced rate-hike risk have strengthened the near-term case for gold.
